Bad starting hands

The 2 7 hand is seen as the most awful hand to have as your pockect cards by many poker players in Texas Hold'em. This is because you cannont do much to improve this hand. If ever you pair one of these cards with the community cards at the poker table, it will still be a very poorpair.Even if you include anyone of these cards in a straight, you will have the lower end of that straight, anyone at the poker table with an 8 would beat you to the pot. It is advisable that the moment you get this hand, you should fold it, unless you want to risk your chips and hope two pairs, which can happen, but with slim chances. So be careful with this hand.

This is not the only hand that I will consider as bad hand. There is also some hands that are worthless and still poker players do play them in hope that they improve.

For example, take these three following hands 2 9, 3 9 and 4 9. These hands will be inducing the same mindset to the player holding them, they will hope that these holes cards turn into pair of nines.

At the ground of it, you don’t have any good hand and still if you hit another nine, there will be possibility of a better hand at the table, let’s say pair of tens. It will be better to fold these kinds of pocket cards at the beginning itself. These also are bad starting hands.
